Cedar Valley & Botanic Garden

A collection of individual gardens in Waterloo, including enabling, children’s, and community gardens, herb and trial gardens, and an expanse of prairie land. The Enabling Garden provides people with physical limitations and older adults the opportunity to connect with plants and the earth through gardening. The fully accessible garden showcases a variety of adaptive designs, tools and containers. Hours: Daily - Dawn to Dusk April 1 to October 1 Admission: Free

DesMoines Botanical Center

The Botanical Center is committed to ongoing education throughout the year on their collections of annuals and perennials and much more. Hours: Open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. See website for admission.

VanDer Veer Botanical Park

This park in Davenport features a conservatory, formal rose gardens, a grand allée, and a children’s sculpture garden. It is home to an extensive collection of native trees. The Conservatory is famous for its numerous floral shows and tropical plants, a tradition of over 100 years. The park is open daily from sunrise until one-half hour after sunset. Vehicle entrances are off West Central Park Avenue.

Admission to the park is free.

The Conservatory and The Friends of Vander Veer Gift Shop are open Tuesday-Sunday, 10 am-4 pm. Conservatory admission is $1 for adults, free for children 16 and under.
